9TH Annual Grenada Day Festival Takes Place Saturday August 22, 2015 - Grenada's Prime Minister, and Toronto Chief of Police are confirmed to attend


(Toronto, ON- August 10, 201)5 - The 9th annual Grenada Day Festival will go down in history as the biggest Grenadian diaspora celebration to date. For the first time, the Honourable Prime Minister of Grenada; Dr. Keith Mitchell will be attending Grenada Day Festival in Toronto, Canada with many other prominent dignitaries, including Toronto's Chief of Police Mark Saunders and more. 

Grenada Day Festival takes place on Saturday August 22nd, 2015 at Coronation Park, located at 2700 Eglinton Ave. West. Doors open at 10 A.M. The public is encourage to donate $10 to receive a ticket for all prizes awarded hourly, including multiple round trip airline tickets courtesy of Caribbean Airlines. 

The Grenada Day Festival celebrates the culture and people of the island of Grenada, and its sister islands; Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Over 8,000 people attend each year for a full day of of live performances from local and international artist, music, arts and craft, food, activities for the whole family and more.

Grenada Day Festival Unmasks Entertainment Roster for 2015: Leading with Entertainment Committee Members

Grenada Day Festival unmasks its entertainment Roster for 2015 - leading the pack is its very own Entertainment Committee Members who are also Toronto' Top Entertainers of Grenadian Descent. Approximately 8000 people are expected to attend this festival.




(Toronto, ON- July 10, 2015) Grenada Day Festival taking place on August 22, 2015 at Coronation Park (Eglinton & Keele) in Toronto promises fun, excitement and an elaborate cultural showcase for the entire family. The entertainment  segment of the festival  is produced by leading Toronto-Grenadian Artists/performers and they will be leading by example this season. The group comprise:

Team Leader, KennyC,  is One of Toronto’s fastest rising Reggae/Soca Artist.  His songs are played on radio stations in Germany, USA, Spain, Canada, UK and the Caribbean. A natural born singer, at the age of fifteen, his boyhood friends in the village of Paradise, St. Andrews, Grenada. W.I. affectionately nicknamed him "Bob Marley" Many KennyC  fans say his soca songs  reminds them of "Mighty Sparrow" & "Lord Kitichener.  

As a Caribbean man KennyC  has a deep love for both REGGAE & SOCA genres so naturally his first album: LONGTIME COMING contained a mixture of Reggae and Soca. Three songs from that album: "RUN KIRANI RUN", "FEEL SO GOOD" and "SWEET GRENADA"  are solid hits. His second Album: Live Life (strictly  Reggae) - 2014, The album  boost hit single: "Thank you Jah" among others and fans can expect to see an amazing performance by KennyC on Grenada Day.

Stage Manager, Delee, started out his musical journey in Grenada at the age of ten as a mouth organ player in a scratch band with a box bass, a scratcher and a milk pan player. From this rudimentary beginning he moved on to Harmony Brass as a drummer/vocalist. By 1979 he had co-written the 1979 Grenada March song STAND UP GRENADA. two years later he joined the Grenada police Band where he expanded his repertoire of musical skills to include those of a second trumpeter.

Delee set out for Canada in 1986 to broaden his musical horizons, and played with the bands import and the Relatives as a drummer/vocalist. Also he has performed with Baron, Calypso Rose, and Ajamu among other oustanding artists. He continued to hone his composition, arranging and engineering skills and built his first home recording studio.
After releasing three discs in the last five years, Delee is well on his way to accomplishing his vision that one day he will be a well known artist/producer of original high quality music.

Committee Member:  Donald John Thomas also known as Flying Gaybo, born in St. Georges, Grenada is a Soca and Reggae artist known to bring out the soul in his music. While his music career started in 2003, his passion for music has always been a part of him. Flying Gaybo is focused on bringing new age music to his audience, while keeping the roots from his Grenadian culture in the music.

Moving to Canada in 1992, Flying Gaybo continues to visit Grenada every year to participate in the Grenada International Soca Monarch. This multi-talented artist has been busy writing and composing songs with his producer Ossie Gurley and performing his groovy hits including ‘Wuk It’, ‘I Know What You Want’, ‘She Country’, and ‘Wine one Me’ and may more; not only in Grenada, but in many major cities in North America.

With 4 albums released to date, Flying Gaybo continues to take over the scene while bringing energy to his performances that will keep you on your feet, dancing to the soul of his music
"Gentlemantimo" a.k.a Timo(Timothy Campbell) Started his musical-career in 1983 as Singer,Songwriter,performing Artist. He and his Brother George Campbell release their all time greatest Hit "Till The Soil" in Trinidad and Tobago performing at Bars,Clubs,Arenas including Sparrow's Hideaway and on radio,TV, newspapers across the country.
"Till The Soil" is now one of GRENADA'S best known agricultural theme song for the past 30 years.
Gentlemantimo has other hits to his credit " Someone In Love" release in Trinidad in 1994. World cup cricket song- "Mama How Much Runs To Go".Juanita,and others release in Grenada. He is also a long standing member of ( cott) copyright organization of Trinidad and Tobago for the past 20 years. Being born and Being born and raised in Grenada he has done his fair share in making his country and fans proud with his musical talent.

Committee Member: Leon Spice i s one of Toronto's hottest cover artist. He sings all different genres of music. Fans can expect to see Leon  performing at casino's, clubs, private parties and many more functions throughout North America. Leon occasionally goes on international tours

Committee Member: PJP (Peter John Phillip) Runs one of the most successful Export business - shipping to Grenada and other islands. His music career may have very well begun from singing beautiful renditions of cover songs to his clients as he collected their barrels. Some credit PJP success in the export business from getting repeat calls from clients wanting to hear more of PJP beautiful voice and renditions. Peter is a well know Jazz singer in the Grenadian Community. He has performed at several functions and festivals. PJP has a knack of putting his own spin on many world renowned Songs - making them delightful and lively. PJP also creates his own sweet music. 

Committee Member: Hudson George is a well known columnist, he  started his singing career as a poet through the power of the word in poetry,  he was introduced into music, by a Caribbean music producer.  . Presently, he is mixing music with spoken word as a Griot.  His music is Griot music because he always tell a story with rhythm and verse music. In addition, Hudson George is the first Grenadian artist in Toronto .to make a popular song. The song is called Victoria Bus.  It is still popular.

In addition fans can expect to see: Dancers, Drummers, Steel Band, Shotrknee, cultural performers and Grenada national sensations - visiting artists:  Muddy, Mandela, Squeezy, Tangla & Lavaman

The festival begins at 10 am while the official opening ceremony is scheduled at 2pm - Entertainment is accelerated thereafter , winding down to the closing act at 9pm. The closing act  will be monumental and should bring a surge of joy to many hearts

Members of the Press are encouraged to come and witness  firsthand  Grenada Day  2015 cultural and sensational extravaganza.

(Toronto, ON - April 22, 2015) - Canadians anticipated the music video for Nigerian native artist T Major last week. On Canada's #1 radio station G98.7FM, live on the African Radio Show, T Major debuted his new single "Let Me Know"along with an interview with award winning radio host MC Bonde. The music video for the single dropped a few days later, and since then has been picked up by Canada's Black Entertainment Television Channel; FEVA TV.

About T Major:

Born Tokunboh Benson in London, England and raised in Nigeria, T Major migrated to Canada at the age of 15, with his older brother. T Major’s name derives from his first name Tokunboh and his father's nickname Major, because he was in the army. Growing up, T Major has always had a talent for writing rhymes, but it was not until the year of 2005, when he began to take his talent to another level. T Major recorded music after meeting  Juno nominated producer, Radford “Hitmaker” Etienne.
T Major then began to collaborate with international artists from Africa, the Caribbean and United States. T Major's talent and drive has set him up to where he is today, which is releasing his first major global hit song "Let Me Know" on Canadian national radio.  There is no limit to T Major's potential, he aspires to make music that transcends across all generations and boundaries.
