NEW Global African Publication Launches in Canada: Afri-Culture
(Ottawa, ON- March 25, 2013) - Over the last decade a number of long withstanding ethnic publications have fell under economic pressures to a closure. Although much ethnic-cultural focused news sources have been lost, there is a new generation of young enterpreneurs ready to take the reigns and build sustainable media companies to continue bringing information to the audiences usually neglected. Raissa Nkuba, a young Congolese-descent entrepreneur founded and launched Afri-Culture in January 2013.
Afri-Culture is an online publication that focuses on state of affairs in African news around the world. As the African Diaspora's population grows around the world, the need for news on the "Motherland" is much needed. Solely in its third month of launching this year, Afri-Culture has already over 6,000 followers on its social media accounts, and a growing readership.

"Afri-Culture was founded to celebrate, honor and empower people of African descent. At Afri-Culture, we take pride in the fact that we promote strictly positive information involving the African continent. Most of what is shown on the news in relation to Africa is usually negative. Why aren't we seeing news regarding Africa's incredibly fast development in the last couple of years? It's very important that we demonstrate a balanced perspective of the African continent. It's true--there is poverty in Africa, but the African continent is also home to some of the greatest authors, musicians and thinkers. Who is telling their stories? Afri-Culture was founded to tell the many stories of Africa. We are taking up this cause to empower and inspire the future generation. Although, the publication has been around for three months, it has quickly gained a significant number of fans and supporters -- future proving people are yearning for this information." - Raissa Nkuba, CEO of Afri-Culture
