Over 6000 People Attended the Largest Grenadian Diaspora Celebration on August 24- (PHOTOS + REVIEW)

This Year's Grenada Day Festival was the MOST Attended, with Over 6,000 People Ready to Celebrate the Largest Grenadian Diaspora Festival Next Year


(Toronto, ON- August 29, 2013) - The 7th Annual Grenada Day Festival took place on Saturday August 24, 2013 at Coronation Park (2700 Eglinton Ave. West). Attendees were blown away with the expanded space, many new vendors, activities for the children, performances, and the many opportunities to win exclusive prizes. 

Two persons won a round trip ticket to Grenada, courtesy of Caribbean Airlines, three persons won cash prizes courtesy of Zayouna Personal Injury Law Firm, and over 200 people received free barrel shipments to the Caribbean courtesy of Tradespan Cargo and much more. The Grenada Hospital Association was also the chosen charity recipient to receive a up to 10,000 lbs shipment for hospital equipment to Grenada.

This year was the first year Grenada Day Festival had an official program guide for the public to keep as a souvenir.

Councillor Frances Nunziata and MPP Laura Albanes presented the Grenada Day Cultural Association with a recognition plaque by the City of Toronto's Mayor, Rob Ford. The committee also gave out their own awards this year for the first time, recognizing the contributions of Grenadians in Canada. The recipients of the Grenada Day Festival award were; Mr. Eddie Bullen, Mr. Caldwall Taylor, and Mr. Clement Edwards

The Grenada Day Festival celebrates the culture and people of the island of Grenada, and its sister islands; Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Over 6,000 people attend each year for a full day of of live performances, music, arts and craft, food, activities for the whole family and more.
