Cassandra is nothing short of the real deal. This young and up and coming artist from Toronto has her sights set on taking the music industry by storm with her many undeniable talents. With a powerful and unique stylized voice unlike anyone else’s, she makes no apologies for sounding different, in fact she embraces it. Her overall sound is more along the lines of R&B and what she likes to call “sophisticated” POP. However don’t be fooled. It’s not your typical brand of any of the two genres. She adds her own special flavour and manages to somehow alter the key elements enough so that the end result sounds like something you would never have expected. In addition to being a great vocalist, Cassandra is also a very gifted songwriter. Writing since the age of 12, she has certainly mastered the art of creating a good quality song worth listening to. In her latest track entitled “Watch Me”, she talks about leaving a selfish boyfriend behind. It’s the type of fearlessness that will have females everywhere applauding, and boyfriends thinking twice before making their women feel like a last priority. Be sure to look out for another new song by Cassandra called “Meanwhile”. Its modern day jazz vibe which centres around a fun and seductive chase between strangers, which is sure not to disappoint.

L.I.R.I.X.

Mathew Taylor aka L.I.R.I.X. is a hip hop artist on the rise bound for greatness. His raw and descriptive story telling cuts deep, giving real insight into triumph and pain. Steered into hip hop by his brother, L.I.R.I.X. became inspired at a very early age. He looked up to hip hop’s finest, artists like Run DMC, LL Cool J, Rakim and Kool Moe Dee just to name a few. Managing to consistently stay at the top of his game, his work ethic can only be described as fierce. As many artists often do, L.I.R.I.X. credits his music for helping him get through some of the toughest times. In the midst of some personal tragedies his passion and desire for his craft has only grown stronger. Today his latest single “Second Renaissance” is proof of that. Honest and to the point, each verse spits fire. As with all his songs, this one makes you think and then think some more. A lyricist, rapper and poet, L.I.R.I.X. is many things. However at the end of the day he is simply a story teller of truth.

A man of many talents, Tuji Sanusi aka 2G is an actor, model and rapper doing big things. His self confident swagger and obvious good looks give him a broad appeal to both the male and female audience. In July of 2008 he released his debut album entitled American Star which saw him working with the likes of Phareal on his second single “Body Language”. In addition to these impressive accomplishments he has also released a mixtape which has gone on to sell roughly 10,000 copies on the street alone and counting. However none of this up and coming success happened over night. 2G has been working at his craft for more than 8 years and still continues to push himself towards achieving even greater success. When you listen to his music there is no denying that there is a raw hunger and determination. His lyrics are to the point and in your face. The flow is constant and at times aggressive but he still manages to get a message across. Look out for his latest single “Breadwinner” it’s sure to be a hit.
