Fastest Downloaded Mixtape In Canada: Dub City Chronicles
900 Downloads in just 24 hours
Toronto-March 24th, 2009-Dub City Chronicles Vol. 1 is one of the fastest downloaded Canadian mixtapes of the year since being released on February 28th, 2009 by artist Matthew “L.I.R.I.X” Taylor, featuring Canadian Stylus Award winning DJ Law. In only 24 hours the first installment of the Dub City Chronicles mixtape project was downloaded an impressive 900 times, and is currently at 4456 downloads. The second instalment of Dub City Chronicles Vol. 2 will be released later this summer. In the meanwhile, L.I.R.I.X’s latest released single "Second Renaissance" has surpassed over 7500 downloads and is up to 17,000 plays on his MySpace. The encouraging numbers are signs of high interest by a growing number of followers of L.I.R.I.X’s music.

About L.I.R.I.X
Matthew “L.I.R.I.X” Taylor is part of that minority of natural born lyricists. So much so, that his performance name “L.I.R.I.X” is an acronym for Living Individual Ripping Intelligence to the X Position; whereby “x” is the symbol of the unknown. L.I.R.I.X’s raw and descriptive story telling cuts deep and gives real insight into the social elements of triumph and pain. Steered into hip hop by his brother, L.I.R.I.X. became interested at a very early age, while looking to hip hop legends as Run DMC, LL Cool J, Rakim and Kool Moe Dee for inspiration.
