Tenacity for Tiffany: Philanthropy for Injured Houston Woman
(Houston, TX –
December 30, 2013) – On December 23, 2013, Tiffany Adams, a Houston
resident, was headed to Lufkin, TX for the Christmas holidays when she lost
control of her car and was seriously injured in a major car accident. She was cut from her vehicle using the Jaws
of Life, and then transported via helicopter to the Houston Medical
Center. She has undergone several
surgeries and remains in stable, yet critical condition. Because Adams worked as a freelance personal
stylist, she is without medical insurance coverage.
Upon receipt of this news, friends and family have sprung
into action to assist. Tenacity for
Tiffany was spearheaded by Kimberly Sanders, Tiffany’s best friend and Dana
Baylous. Tenacity for Tiffany is a fund
to assist with the medical expenses and recovery of Tiffany Adams. Kimberly and Tiffany are both from Lufkin, TX
and have been friends for over 15 years.
Dana and Tiffany met while they both attended Sam Houston State
University. Through the online website
fundrazr.com, Tenacity for Tiffany has surpassed the $4000 mark in three days
of operation.
“Our goal is to raise at least $30,000.” said Sanders. “The helicopter transport, by my research,
costs a minimum of $12,000.” added Baylous.
“That’s just one part of her costs.
That doesn’t even include her medical expenses and she’s still in ICU.”
Their calls for help have been heard. Tenacity for Tiffany will be co-hosting First
Fridays at Chelsea, where event organizer Kim Lawson of EsKay Entertainment,
will donate a portion of the proceeds to the fund. “When I heard about Tiffany’s accident and
what they wanted to do, my answer was: of course.” said Lawson.
“We just want everyone who can to come out and support. And if you’re unable to attend, please show
your support by donating to this worthy cause.
Every bit helps us get closer to reaching our goals and helping our friend.”
said Baylous.
The Tenacity for Tiffany takeover of First Fridays will be
on Friday, January 3, 2013 at the Chelsea Grill, 4621 Montrose Blvd., Houston,
TX. The event begins at 10 PM and
labeled as “party with purpose”, a portion of all proceeds will go to the fund
to assist with Tiffany’s mounting medical costs.
