HIPLIFE MUSIC: AN AFRICAN MOVEMENT IN NORTH AMERICA

(June 29, 2010-Toronto,ON) Hype Records is putting Hiplife and Highlife music, which originated from Ghana in West Africa to the forefront of the Canadian & American music industry. Hiplife is the fusion of Ghanaian Highlife music and American Hip Hop together, which creates an amazing new sound of music that is uniquely Ghanaian. Hiplife artists are the rappers of non-English music, speaking in their local Ghanaian languages such as: Twi, Ewe and Ga. The social impact of Hiplife is a youth movement,  which reflects a vibrant African youth culture sweeping the Continent and its Diaspora. The Factory Bois, are a Toronto based Hiplife group, that are pushing the musical genre to North America.
