TDSB Trustee Candidate Tiffany Ford Reacts to Globe and Mail Article on the ‘Big Fish’ Candidate Spiros Papathanasakis

(October 26, 2014-Toronto, ON)-  Tiffany Ford, rival candidate to Mr. Papathanasakis has been warning her community members not to be deceived by his campaign promises of “JOBS JOBS JOBS”, nor his aggressive street team’s outrageous promises to youth in the community of opportunities on basketball teams.
In the Globe and Mail newspaper’s October 24, 2014 article titled A ‘big fish’ seeks a seat at the Toronto District School Board, the profile of business owner and current TDSB Trustee Candidate for York West, Mr. Spiros Papathanasakis revealed his deep and problematic connections with the TDSB school board.

“I’ve heard rumors about Mr. Papathansakis’ connection to the TDSB school board, but the Globe and Mail’s coverage on his deep connections and influence is quite troubling. We simply cannot have someone like Mr. Papathanasakis parachute into our community and request that we elect him to a seat on the board. It’s quite clear; he has absolutely no interest in our community, students or schools. Wards 7 and 8, which are connected by the Jane-Finch community has the most undeserved schools in the city. Mr. Papathansakis’ marketing collateral suggests that he has come to “rescue” our youth. I highly doubt a person who has no comprehension of what our youth are faced with inside and outside of the classroom can create the change we are desperately in need of right now.  On Monday, say no to Spiros and his agenda, and vote for an authentic voice from our community and schools." - Tiffany Ford
